Energy study
The energy study is drawn up if it concerns (1) a new establishment, and (2) a change in the permit of a company that has already drawn up an energy plan in the past. The change involves an additional consumption of at least 10 TJ of primary energy per year.
It only considers the start-up activities and compares the energy efficiency of the facility with similar operational facilities.
Energy plan
In all other cases, an energy plan will be drawn up, unless an energy plan has already been drawn up in the past and the change does not involve additional consumption of at least 10 TJ of primary energy each year.
The energy plan only focuses on existing activities and facilities and aims to reduce energy consumption.
A combination of an energy plan and an energy study is also possible.
Energy policy agreement
Companies that have concluded an energy policy agreement (EBO) with the Flemish Government, can be exempted from the obligation to draw up an energy plan. Profex can also guide you in making this EBO.
